Emperor’s Meat
Legend has it that when a famous Song dynasty poet, Su Dong Po, was banished to Huang Zhou in China, in a life of poverty, he came up with the Emperor’s Meat dish. He first braised the pork, added Chinese fermented wine and made red braised pork, slowly stew it on a low heat. That was the birth of this delicious dish. The dish quickly spread from Huang Zhou to other parts of China and now, it is a delicacy that all Chinese enjoy.
The Emperor’s Meat is also commonly cooked with tofu and eggs. It is also a favourite dish served al with plain rice or porridge. Alternatively, the meat can be eaten with steamed plain buns. Click to find out more information on how to easily prepare Emperor’s Meat with Jin Soon spices.
